Lots of people ask us about our company name, Green Moon Solutions. What does it mean? Is there any significance? How did you decide upon it? 

The answer is long and winding, but this will give you an idea of how we came about the name. 

Green

The color green is calm and soothing and evokes the idea of the outdoors and nature. We are a mostly paperless organization and try our best to minimize waste and operate efficiently. Kermit the Frog sang about being green - it's not easy, but it's worthwhile! 

Moon

The moon has such a symbiotic relationship with the earth, it causes the tides, which makes for interesting changes in the earth and makes for vibrant coastal environments.  When it is full, it can shed light on darkness. The moon is ever-changing in its phases, yet constant. To some the moon is a spiritual object. Plus, two of our employees come from a town in Pennsylvania named Moon Township, so for friends and family back home there is that back story. 

Solutions

"Solutions" was chosen instead of "software" because we don’t package any shrink-wrapped software or sell it off the shelf. Instead we use software (anything from web programming, to ecommerce, to spreadsheets and databases) to solve problems.  We work with our clients, determine what challenges they face, and then think abou the best way to solve them. Usually, we use software to implement solutions, but sometimes just flow-charting their processes leads to insights.
