Live broadcasting couldn’t be any easier than it is with Vpype.  “Tell you story to the world,” is Vpye’s slogan, and isn’t that what every expert advises non profits to do when they are communicating with their constituents through social media?  Video brings your story to life.  Personal stories have an immense impact on others.

Before I explain how Vpype works, I want to discuss how your non profit can use Vpype.  Schedule monthly  Facebook broadcasats of upcoming eventts and use the Twitter and  Facebook invite tool to promote your web show.   Think of it as a monthly newsletter.  Hold a question and answer session via the chat feature. Invite your donors and volunteers to record a short video on why they are drawn to your cause.  Recruit event attendees to tell their personal stories.     Vpype has a “vgreeting” section, so you could send a video thank you note to your largest donors or your volunteers.   Create a video contest to promote your cause by asking your Facebook friends and Twitter followers to create their own videos.   Since all you need is a webcam and microphone, you can create a Vpype broadcast today.

Coming Soon: vConversation – “Create, share and answer questions with your friends. “  You can set up a scheduled time when a staff member will be live on Facebook to answer any questions about your organization.

Increase engagement with your conference attendees, and more importantly, thank them for all of their support.  Let your creativity take off and enjoy this new Facebook application.

 How does it work?

Go to Vpype.com and click on the video camera, and then sign into you Facebook account.  Once you select “broadcast”, Vpype has three quick and easy steps to perform before you can begin recording your broadcast.

Step one: Configure your hardware, and by doing this you are giving Vype permission to access your microphone and webcam.

Step Two:  Enter broadcast information.  Your name and Facebook photo are displayed.

Enter information for the following titles:

  •  Broadcasting Live From-  enter location

  • Name – Show Title

  • Keywords – List all tags and keywords

 Choose from the following:

  • On Behalf Of – Myself or Any other Facebook pages you administer

  • Share With – Everyone, my friends, friends of friends, only me, or custom.  In custom sharing you can choose who you want to share your broadcast with by simply typing in the name of your friends or your lists.  You can also select Vpype users.

  • Start – Your choices are “now” or you can choose a date from the calendar.

  • There is also a checkbox for you to check if you want to save your recording.

  • Announce – There are checkboxes for Facebook and Twitter.

  • Duration – The range is from five minutes up to three hours.

  • Viewers – The range is 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, 200, and 300 viewers.

You are now ready to start your broadcast.

Step Three: Start the Broadcast

  • When you are ready, just click record.

When you are done, you can edit the name, tags and sharing information by clicking on “manage.”  You can also delete and download your video too.  You can find your videos on under the Applications menu on your Facebook page.

I look forward to viewing your new Vpype broadcasts.
